Salkhino is about 12 km north of Martvili. A car is the easiest way: you can then see several canyons in one day.

By public transport
Minibuses (marshrutkas) run from Kutaisi and Tbilisi to Martvili. From Martvili a taxi takes about 15–20 minutes to Salkhino. Check current timetables locally.
Good to know
- Buy national park tickets in advance at nationalparks.ge.
- Wear good shoes: trails can be wet and slippery.
- Dress modestly in churches; women need a head covering.
- In summer bring swimwear and sunscreen. The water at Kaghu is cold!
- Cards are not accepted everywhere: carry some cash.
